Periodontist & Implant Specialist and Adult Orthodontist in Gaithersburg MD
Dr. Hadeed has been in private practice in the dual specialties of Periodontics & Dental Implants and Adult Rehabilitative Orthodontics, proudly serving the greater Gaithersburg area since 1991. This dual certification and the expertise it reflects enables Dr. Hadeed to provide an extended range of therapeutic modalities through the vast knowledge of both disciplines in order to achieve the utmost in treatment excellence. During this time, he has been delivering the full scope of both specialties with particular emphasis in dental implants, periodontal bone regeneration/augmentation, cosmetic periodontal surgery, soft tissue (gum) grafting and adult rehabilitative orthodontics. He is one of the few providers in the world who possesses dual certification of both specialties, as well as being certified to perform the innovative Pinhole Surgical Technique for gum recession which requires no scalpel, no grafting and no sutures.
Dr. Hadeed is a native of Maryland where he was raised and attended local schools. He always had a compassionate interest in dentistry. His college pursuits initially brought him to the University of Maryland, where in 1980, he received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Music Composition and Classic Guitar Performance. During this time period, he had also completed all of the prerequisite courses necessary to fulfill the requirements of the pre-dental curriculum in order to enter dental school. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Howard University College of Dentistry, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1985 and also received the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Award from the National Dental Honor Society. While in dental school and as a direct result of his academic honors, he was appointed by the dean in the capacity of student faculty to teach in the Academic Reinforcement Program by his second year. The purpose of the program was to raise the level of preparation, commitment to learning, and mastery of skills necessary for the incoming dental student to attain clinical/academic excellence.
By his final year in dental school, he developed a strong interest in periodontics. He then continued his education in the postdoctoral specialty residency at the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where he received his Certificate in Periodontics in 1987. This program focused on the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases, with intense training in bone regeneration, oral plastic surgery, dental implants, and the orthodontic rehabilitation of the periodontally compromised patient. Realizing the challenging and complicated interrelationship between Periodontics and Orthodontics in the periodontal patient through the exposure in his periodontal residency, Dr. Hadeed felt that it was imperative to pursue a second specialty in Orthodontics in order to render the excellence of comprehensive rehabilitative treatment that the periodontal patient so deserves. He then further continued his education in the postdoctoral specialty residency at the Howard University College of Dentistry where he received his Certificate in Orthodontics in 1991. This program focused on the diagnosis and treatment of all orthodontic malocclusions, with emphasis on the periodontal patient, dentofacial orthopedics, surgical orthodontics, and temporomandibular joint disorders. He received the Excellence in Postdoctoral Research Award for his work on the anatomic interrelationship between periodontics and orthodontics. Upon completion of his orthodontic residency, he was recruited by the Department of Periodontics at Howard University College of Dentistry as assistant professor. After several years, he vacated the position in order to give full attention to his private practice, although returning as guest lecturer periodically.
Periodontal disease and tooth loss can also affect the external facial appearance due to posterior bite collapse resulting in a decreased lower anterior facial height. Dr. Hadeed has also received advanced medical training and certification in Comprehensive Facial Esthetics via Botox and Dermal Filler Rejuvenation to further address these issues for his patients.
Always striving for increased knowledge, Dr. Hadeed has accumulated massive hours in continuing education far beyond the yearly requirements needed. It is his solemn promise and never ending quest to stay abreast of all clinical advances to constantly fulfill his vision of providing the optimal patient experience through his compassion, specific attention to detail, and uncompromised excellence of care in an unparalleled environment.
Dr. Hadeed is married to his wife Tracie; who is an excellent dental hygienist, and they have six children. In his free time, Dr. Hadeed can be found writing and playing music. He is in the process of completing a dramatic musical that he hopes will be produced in the near future. As part of his church community, he honorably gives his time serving as the high school youth group leader for the past several years, a position of which he is extremely proud of. He also has given his time over the years to help prepare students musically for their yearly high school music productions.
He truly believes that “The value of a person resides in what they are capable of giving, and not in what they are capable of receiving.”
