Guided Bone & Tissue Regeneration
Gum disease has traditionally been treated by eliminating the gum pockets by trimming away the infected gum tissue and by re-contouring the uneven bone tissue. Although this is still an effective way of treating gum disease, new and more sophisticated procedures are used routinely today. One of these advancements is guided bone regeneration, also referred to as guided tissue regeneration. This procedure is used to stabilize endangered teeth or to prepare the jaw for dental implants.
As periodontal disease progresses, pockets of degenerated bone develop in the jaw. These pockets can promote the growth of bacteria and the spread of infection. To address these pockets, Dr. Hadeed may recommend tissue regeneration. During this surgical procedure, the pockets are cleaned thoroughly, and a membrane is installed between the soft tissue and the pocket in the bone. Some of these membranes are bio-absorbable and some require removal. The membrane covers the pocket so that fast-growing soft tissue is blocked, and slower-growing bone can begin to grow, or “regenerate” itself.
The effectiveness of the procedure generally depends on the patient’s willingness to follow a strict postoperative diet and careful oral care. Dr. Hadeed will help you determine if bone regeneration surgery is right for you.

Dr Hadeed, Tracey, and Frieda are an incredible team. Their knowledge, state of the art equipment, expertise, and personal touches made my experiences worry free. I have had problem teeth all of my life and going to any dental professional caused me great anxiety. Dr. Hadeed has performed several procedures on me, to include tooth extractions and preparing me for implant replacement using regeneration materials, bone, and collagen. My experiences were amazingly stress free! The Hadeeds are wonderful people interested in helping and healing their patients to the very best of their abilities.

I was referred to Dr. Hadeed by my general dentist because of my advanced periodontal disease. After an in depth thorough examination and diagnosis, Dr. Hadeed performed several periodontal surgical procedures involving bone grafting to help save my teeth and bring my gums back to health. My mother had periodontal disease and I strongly feel that her untreated gum disease was a direct contributing risk factor to her demise from heart disease, as the medical and dental profession did not understand the link between them in the past the way they do now! So, needless to say, I in essence feel that my overall general health has drastically improved due to my periodontal treatment. Dr. Hadeed is an exceptionally skilled and kind periodontist. I might also add that his surgical assistant Tracie, who is also my dental hygienist, is remarkable as well. What a pleasure it is to be taken care of by a compassionate and dedicated team!

I want to thank you and Tracie for taking such good tender loving care of my daughter. I told her that it is a blessing to be in your care. You are such a spiritual and loving person, as is Tracie. And all those who you take care of are luckier than they ever realize.
